Remember your good old LEGOs? remember the genuine pleasure you felt while crossdressing a fierce fireman into a nurse? or a ruthless pirate into a ballet dancer.
you never felt anything like this ... ok, I see...
Anyway the source hereunder presenst a first approach to manipulate a simple model made of different models.

I chose the LEGO fella because:

• it is modular
• it is easy to model and animate
• it is an absolute fashion victim that would deliberately commit any crime against taste just to be trendy.

This made it a perfect guinea-pig for this test.
After Lo-Poly Modeling it, I used the AS3GEOMCLASSEXPORTER by Seraf to export each limb as a SANDY compliant class (check the lego.* package).
I have abundantly commented the source file so there is not much to say about it.

The thing is that we can select each limb independantly and somehow rotate them like a real LEGO (= not much). You can select a material from the combbox or a colour from the colorPicker and click a limb of the model. Then your LEGO fella will be ready to impress all his LEGO friends that are far less trendy than him.
for example :

don't forget to check the 'punch' checkbox to obtain really strange renders with the alpha materials.
My own personal favorite is the rightmost with his alien vomit jumper.

Now maybe you'd like me to stop cracking poor jokes and bring the files on. Ok, so I zipped the whole thing.
Iit contains 3 folders :

• pics / the resources for this page
• max / legoman.max : the 3DSMAX model
• en / the flash sources directory where you 'll find everything you need except the sandy API that you 'll have to install separately.
  /!\ the source FLA is in CS3 format.

j'ai fait un atricle mondialement connu pour le blabla, en prime tu auras une autre démo que n'auront pas ces salauds de non-francophones. Ah qu'il est bon d'être méchant :)
